We love these 27″ ‘thick’ generation iMacs, they are such reliable machines. Especially compared to the new generation ‘thin’ iMac’s which have poor cooling and suffer from serious overheating issues.
As soon as the operating system loads up on this iMac, it becomes increasingly unstable and unusable as a result.
Unresponsive iMac Repair Process
We knew that iMac unresponsiveness and slowness could be either caused by software or hard drive issues.
In this case, we did not even need to run an HDD diagnostic software, as the hard drive was making all the wrong noises. From rattling to occasional clicking noises, all was there.
When taken apart, we could see the sheer amount of dust potentially caused the failure.
