This small Acer came with quite unusual problem, where laptop turns on but there is no picture on the screen. Laptop lights are on, even the keyboard backlight was on. But there was no picture on either internal, or external HDMI screen.

We quickly took the laptop apart and start measuring what component may be faulty on it. And it wasn’t loge before we spotted the faulty capacitor near the screen connector which was shorting the video output.

This capacitors are designed to filter the voltage and possibly this one was overworked. Their size is tiny, and special equipment is needed for the job to be done properly.
Quickly we have replaced the faulty component with a new one by using our hot air station.

After assembling the Acer Laptop, it fire up immediately on the internal and external screen and start working as expected.

To ensure nothing else was damaged on the laptop, we ran extended tests on the hardware. Then we logged into the user account and checked if everything is as expected on the Windows.

Couple hours later, Laptop Repair was completed and laptop was delivered back to the customer.
